Clients drive themselves to Umbhaba Eco Lodge in Hazyview, a small town known as the Gateway to Kruger National Park. Upon arrival at the lodge, there is time to relax in the pool, enjoy the large gardens and water features, and indulge in a drink at the bar. Clients stay in the lodge’s Superior Rooms, each with its own private balcony. Dinner is included.
The best time to enter Kruger National Park is just before sunrise. We enter the park as the gates open, and after about 3 hours of exploring and looking for wildlife, the guide will stop for breakfast. Delicious breakfast packs will be provided by the lodge. We then continue the safari, exploring Kruger’s various eco-zones, each with its own variety of wildlife. We visit rivers, watering holes, vast plains, and bushveld regions.
Around 12 pm, your guide will stop for lunch at one of the rest camps. Lunch is on your own account, and there will be time to do some curio shopping.
We then head back towards the lodge, arriving around 4 pm, with enough time to swim, relax, and have dinner. Common sightings during this full-day Kruger Park safari include impala, kudu, buffalo, elephant, lion, and even leopard and rhino!
Today, we again depart before sunrise for another full-day open vehicle Kruger Park safari. The exciting thing about the Kruger is that no safari is ever the same, and you will always see something new. Early starts give our guests the chance to see predators like hyenas and lions, which are often more active in the mornings. Your guide will choose the best routes based on the time of year to maximize wildlife viewing.
We drive for 3 hours and then stop for a refreshing breakfast. After stretching our legs, we continue the safari until lunchtime, when we visit a rest camp with restaurants and shops to enjoy before heading slowly back to the lodge.
The Kruger is vast, and every safari is unique. Kurt Safari is rated the number one TripAdvisor-approved safari operator in the Kruger, with some of the best guides promising you an unforgettable safari experience!
Breakfast will be served at the lodge, after which clients will depart for their next destination. Check-out time is 10 am.
