We collect our clients from various lodges in Hazyview and within a 5 km radius. Clients traveling from further away can meet the safari vehicle at Perry’s Bridge Trading Post & Tourism Centre, or at Numbi or Phabeni Gate.

Our afternoon safari drives focus on finding plains game such as zebra, giraffe, and the majestic elephant. As the afternoon cools down, there is also the chance of spotting predators like lions and leopards, which are more active during dawn and dusk.

What to expect

Although wildlife tends to rest in the midday heat, an afternoon safari has the advantage of our guides having information about earlier sightings and their locations. Using this information, we head to these areas in hopes of providing you with the most exciting wildlife experiences. We often visit watering holes, which are popular in the hot afternoon as animals come to drink or play in the water. Watching elephants splash playfully in a river on a hot afternoon is an unforgettable sight.

As the day progresses and it gets closer to the park’s closing time, the chances of sightings increase, as animals become more active as the heat subsides.

Since afternoon safaris in Kruger Park can be very hot, even during winter, we advise you to bring sun cream, a hat, sunglasses, and comfortable shoes. For winter safaris, bring warm clothing for the evenings, and for summer safaris, pack a rain jacket. Mineral water is included on all safaris.
