The drive from the city to Hazyview is laidback and scenic, taking about 5 to 6 hours.
Once you arrive at the lodge, you’ll have time to get settled in, and enjoy a light and refreshing lunch before easing into the afternoon with a swim or a gentle stroll along the lodge’s scenic walking trails.
As the day begins to come to a close, you’ll set off on a Sunset/Night safari in the Kruger National Park. In the late afternoon, the sky takes on a brilliant golden glow and the wildlife becomes wonderfully active.
If you are travelling with us in winter, you’ll have a longer night drive, due to the earlier sunset, while in summer you’ll be treated to breathtaking sunset views as well as the opportunity to see a magnificent Kruger thunderstorm.
Your guide will do everything possible to give you the best nocturnal wildlife sightings before returning you to the lodge around 20:00 pm, where you’ll have a delicious dinner and a peaceful night’s rest.

The early morning hours are the very best time to find wildlife on the move, especially big predators, and we leave the lodge in time to enter the Kruger just as the sun begins to rise.
Your guide will choose the most promising areas of the park for today’s game drive, giving you the best possible chance of encountering the Big 5.
The lodge will provide breakfast packs, and after about three hours of exploring, your guide will stop for a break, giving you time to enjoy your meal and stretch your legs.
Then it’s back to the safari as we make our way through the twisting network of gravel and dirt roads of the wildlife abundant Southern Kruger.
Passing forested river banks, driving over bridges, stopping at waterholes and passing endless grassy plains, the morning is spent moving slowly through a variety of rich eco-zones, all in search of those iconic sightings that the Kruger is famous for.
Around midday, we’ll stop at one of the rest camps for lunch, which will be at your own cost.
In the camp you can shop for curios or treat yourself to an ice-cold beer, cool drink or ice cream, before we start to make our way back to the lodge.
We return to the lodge between 15:30 and 16:00 pm, giving you plenty of time to put your feet up, go for a swim and enjoy a relaxed, laidback dinner.

Breakfast & Dinner (Lunch not included)
We start the day slowly, with a quick but substantial breakfast and at 8:00 am your guide will arrive with a cool, comfortable vehicle, and you’ll leave Hazyview for the Panorama Route.
The road will take you high up into the Northern Drakensberg. The climb is steep, the views all around you are outstanding, and as the air sharpens and the temperature drops, the landscapes become almost mythic.
We’ll stop at some of the Route’s most beautiful attractions including God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the Blyde River Canyon, the Lisbon Falls, and the 3 Rondavels. Be sure to bring a jacket and shoes, because at every stop you’ll want to get out, and explore the fantastical surroundings.
By midday, we’ll stop for lunch in the quaint town of Graskop. Lunch is unrushed and indulgent (you’ll want to try the pancakes), and afterward you can take some time to browse the many curio shops.
By late afternoon we’ll arrive back at the lodge, pleasantly tired and full of heady canyon air.
There’s time for a drink, a swim, or both, before dinner.

Breakfast & Dinner (Lunch not included)
The world is still dark, and the air cool will be sharp enough to wake every sense, when you set out again for a morning in the Kruger.
These early hours are the best times to catch sightings of lions finishing their night patrols, hyenas loping along the road back to their den after a night of scavenging, and various predator/prey activities.
Instead of retracing the roads we took on previous game drives, your guide will take you into new terrain, keeping the experience fresh and exciting.
The Kruger’s massive road network sprawls across savannahs, through riverine forests, and into secret places that only the most experienced guides are familiar with. Your guide will use the seasons as inspiration, changing the routes as water, food, and temperature draw different animals into the open.
By late morning you return to the lodge, pleasantly dusted by the bush and the rest of the day is yours.
You can laze by the pool, stretch your legs on a walk around the lodge gardens, sip something delicious while relaxing in your room, or simply sit back and let the African sun do its warm, golden thing.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included today.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
This is your last safari of the trip, and your guide has one mission today, to track down the creatures that stayed elusive on the first two drives.
A quick stop for breakfast and coffee will give you some much needed fuel, and then it’s back into the wild as you keep a look out for animals all while watching golden morning sunlight spilling over the plains, as the park wakes up around you.
Around midday you’ll return to the lodge and there’s just time to freshen up, and say farewell to your guide.
By early afternoon, at around 12:30 pm, the shuttle collects you, beginning the smooth journey back toward Johannesburg.
You’ll reach the airport area between late afternoon and early evening (between 17:00 and 18:00 pm).
