Day 2: Full-Day Open Vehicle Safari in the Kruger National Park
(Breakfast & Dinner Included. Lunch at own expense)
The safari begins before sunrise, the best time of day to enter the park and spot wildlife. After a short drive to the park gates, your guide will lead you into areas known for their abundant wildlife. Early mornings also offer a higher chance of encountering predators in action.
Breakfast packs will be prepared by the lodge. After about three hours of exploring, your guide will stop at a rest camp for breakfast, a bathroom break, and an opportunity to grab a coffee. The safari continues through the diverse eco-zones of the park, which feature a variety of wildlife habitats, including rivers, watering holes, open plains, and bushveld areas.
For lunch, we stop at another rest camp. This meal will be at your own expense, and there will be time to browse curio shops or enjoy a refreshing drink, such as a cold beer. After lunch, the safari resumes as we make our way back to the lodge, arriving around 3:30 pm or 4:00 pm. Guests will have time to relax, take a swim, and enjoy a delicious dinner to end the day.
Day 3: Morning Safari and Transfer Back to Johannesburg
(Breakfast Included)
Your final safari of the trip begins before sunrise. After departing the lodge, your guide will focus on tracking animals not yet spotted during the previous safaris, with a special emphasis on locating lions and leopards, which are often most active in the early morning. With over 148 mammal species and more than 500 bird species in the Kruger National Park, there will be plenty to see and photograph.
During the safari, we’ll pause for a packed breakfast and coffee at a rest camp or picnic spot. After breakfast, the safari continues before returning to the lodge at approximately 12:00 pm.
Guests will have time to freshen up and say goodbye to their guide before the journey back to Johannesburg. The shuttle will collect clients from the lodge between 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm, and we aim to arrive at the OR Tambo shuttle terminal and nearby lodges (within a 5 km radius) between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
Important: Clients flying out of OR Tambo International on the final day of the safari are advised to book flights no earlier than 8:00 pm for domestic travel and 9:00 pm for international travel.
