4 Day Kruger Safari

Night Safaris

On Day 1, enjoy a sunset/night safari in a private Kruger concession. Witness the park’s nocturnal wildlife and the magical transition from day to night in the African bush.

Full-Day Kruger Safari

Days 2 and 3 feature full-day safaris starting before sunrise. With breakfast and lunch served at rest camps, you’ll explore different regions of the Kruger National Park each day. These extended safaris cover a larger area compared to shorter drives, increasing the likelihood of encountering a wide variety of wildlife.

Morning Safaris

On Day 4, embark on a 6-hour morning safari before your transfer back to Johannesburg. Starting before sunrise, this safari provides excellent opportunities to spot wildlife during the cooler hours of the day.

Transfers

Round-trip transfers are included, starting from Johannesburg to the Kruger area on Day 1 and returning to Johannesburg on Day 4. Enjoy comfortable and reliable transportation throughout your journey.

Accommodation

Stay at comfortable lodges featuring amenities such as air-conditioned rooms, swimming pools, and Wi-Fi. The lodges provide a relaxing retreat after a day of safari adventures.

Meals

Delicious meals are included throughout your trip: light lunch and dinner on Day 1, breakfast and dinner on Days 2 and 3, and breakfast on Day 4. Traditional meals are served at the lodge, ensuring a taste of local flavors.

Both lodges are ideally located within a convenient 15-minute drive from Phabeni Gate, the main entrance to the Kruger National Park. Departure & Return Location

  • 06:30 am – 06:45 am – Clients will be collected from lodges within a 5 km radius of OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
  • 06:45 am – 07:00 am – Clients will be collected from the Shuttle and Bus Terminal at the OR Tambo International Airport. We depart at 7:15 am. Please see the Map below to see our pickup points.

Transport to the Airport is available via the modern Gautrain or Uber.

Clients can also fly directly into Skukuza Airport within the Kruger, or to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport where they will be collected by a Kurt Safari Guide at no additional cost.

  • Flights depart daily from Cape Town at 10:30 AM, landing before 13:00 PM at Nelspruit – KMIA- (MQP).

Day 1: Transfer from Johannesburg & Sunset/Night Safari

(Lunch & Dinner Included)

Guests will be picked up from various lodges and hotels within a 5 km radius of OR Tambo International Airport between 6:30 am and 6:45 am, or from the OR Tambo International Airport shuttle and bus terminal between 6:45 am and 7:00 am. Departure for Hazyview is scheduled for 7:15 am.

Alternatively, guests can choose to fly directly to Skukuza Airport or Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, where a Kurt Safari guide will be available for pickup at no additional cost.

Please confirm your pickup details the day before your tour by emailing online@kurtsafari.com. Kindly note that these are shared departures.

The transfer to Hazyview takes you directly to the lodge, where you will arrive between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm. Guests can relax, unpack, and enjoy a light lunch. There will also be time to take a swim or explore the lodge’s walking trails.

At approximately 4:00 pm, you will depart for an exciting Sunset/Night Safari in the Kruger National Park. After the safari, you will return to the lodge around 7:30 pm or 8:00 pm, where a delicious dinner will be served, followed by a restful evening.

 

Day 2: Full-Day Open Vehicle Safari in Kruger National Park

(Breakfast & Dinner Included. Lunch at own expense)

Your safari adventure begins before sunrise, the prime time for spotting wildlife, particularly predators. As we enter the park gates, your guide will determine the best areas to explore for the morning’s game drive. During this time, you’ll have the chance to see a variety of animals, including the iconic Big 5.

Breakfast packs will be provided by the lodge. After approximately three hours of driving, your guide will stop for a breakfast and bathroom break, with an opportunity to grab a cup of coffee. The safari then continues as we explore the park’s diverse eco-zones, each offering unique wildlife. You’ll visit rivers, watering holes, open plains, and Bushveld areas to maximize wildlife sightings.

Lunch will take place at a rest camp, where you’ll have the option to purchase your meal. While at the camp, you can shop for curios or enjoy a refreshing cold beer. After lunch, the guide will resume the safari as we head back toward the lodge, exploring more of the park along the way. You’ll return to the lodge between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm, allowing time to relax, take a swim, and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 3: Full-Day Open Vehicle Safari in Kruger National Park

(Breakfast & Dinner Included. Lunch at own expense)

Once again, the day starts early, with a departure from the lodge before sunrise. Each safari is a unique experience, and today’s adventure will focus on exploring a different part of the park. Your guide will seek out predators and other wildlife that are common to the region.

After approximately three hours of game viewing, there will be a stop for breakfast, where you can stretch your legs, use the facilities, and grab a coffee. Breakfast packs will be provided by the lodge. The safari continues, taking you to rivers, watering holes, lookout points, and other areas of interest, offering plenty of opportunities to spot the park’s incredible wildlife.

Lunch will be at a rest camp, where you can purchase your meal. The guide will select a different rest camp from the day before to provide a fresh experience. During the stop, you can browse the shops, pick up souvenirs, or unwind with a cold drink.

After lunch, the safari resumes, gradually making its way back to the lodge. You’ll arrive between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm, with time to relax, swim, and savor a delicious dinner.

Day 4: Morning Safari and Transfer Back to Johannesburg

(Breakfast Included)

Your final safari begins before sunrise, offering one last opportunity to experience the beauty of the Kruger National Park. A packed breakfast will be enjoyed at a rest camp or picnic site during the morning safari. On this drive, your guide will focus on spotting animals you may have missed during the previous safaris. With 148 mammal species and over 500 bird species, the park offers endless possibilities for wildlife sightings and photography. We will especially look out for lions and leopards, which are most active in the early morning.

After a brief breakfast and coffee stop, the safari continues before returning to the lodge at approximately 12:00 pm. Here, you can freshen up and say goodbye to your guide before beginning the journey back to Johannesburg.

The shuttle will collect guests between 12:00 and 12:30 pm, returning to OR Tambo International Airport’s shuttle terminal or lodges within a 5 km radius. Arrival in Johannesburg is expected between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

Important: Guests flying out of OR Tambo International Airport on the last day are advised to book flights no earlier than 8:00 pm for domestic travel and 9:00 pm for international travel.
