Day 1: Transfer from Johannesburg & Sunset Safari

(Lunch & Dinner Included)

Your adventure begins with an early pickup between 6:30 am and 7:00 am from selected lodges near OR Tambo International Airport or directly from the airport itself. From there, you’ll take to the open road, driving past jaw droppingly beautiful mountains and abundantly green farmland, to the bustling town of Hazyview, arriving around midday.

Upon arrival, you’ll check into the tranquil Umbhaba Eco Lodge, your home for the next two nights. After settling in, enjoy a light lunch and perhaps a swim in the pool or a stroll through the lodge’s lush gardens.

At 3:45 pm, your first game-viewing experience begins with a sunset safari in an open safari vehicle. As the sun dips gently below the horizon, the bush comes alive with activity, with sights and sounds that are quite otherworldly. This is an ideal time to spot wildlife of all kinds, especially predators.

You’ll return to the lodge at around 8:00 pm for a delicious dinner and your first night in the Lowveld.

Day 2: Full-Day Safari in Kruger National Park

(Breakfast & Dinner Included; Lunch at Own Expense)

The day starts well before sunrise as you venture into the Kruger National Park for a full-day safari. Early mornings are another ideal time to visit the park, to see predators in action before the heat of the day sets in.

Midway through the morning, you’ll have a packed breakfast at one of the park’s rest camps, where you can stretch your legs, grab a hot drink, and prepare for the second half of your safari.

Today, your expert guide will take you through a wide variety of incredible, unique habitats, including open savannah and riverine forests, in search of the Big Five and other remarkable wildlife.

After a midday break and lunch at your own cost, you’ll continue your safari, looking for more wildlife, before heading back to the lodge in the late afternoon.

There will be time to unwind by the pool, upload your photos, or simply relax before your next dinner under the stars.

Day 3: Panorama Route & Transfer to Ndzuti Bush Camp

(Breakfast & Dinner Included)

After breakfast at 7:30 am, you’ll be taken on a scenic journey along the spectacular Panorama Route. This half-day tour includes stops at iconic landmarks such as God’s Window, Lisbon Falls, and the dramatic Blyde River Canyon, giving you a refreshing escape into the cool mountain air of the Drakensberg after a few days spent in the hot and humid Kruger.

After a morning of great exploration and time to take plenty of photos, you’ll head to Hoedspruit, and from there transfer into the Greater Kruger region, arriving at Ndzuti Bush Camp in time for a light lunch.

Located in the Balule Nature Reserve, Ndzuti is an unfenced, authentic safari camp where wildlife often wanders near the camp’s waterhole.

At 4:00 pm, you’ll set out for a private safari in Balule, a pristine Big Five reserve that is well-known for its excellent opportunities to see elephants, lions, and more, all without the crowds.

The day ends with dinner around the fire, and your first night in the wild African bushveld.

Day 4: Morning & Afternoon/Night Safaris in Balule

(Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included)

You’ll start the day with coffee or tea before setting out on an exciting sunrise safari.

With no fences and even fewer vehicles, Balule will give you a serene, undisturbed game-viewing experience, the perfect atmosphere for spotting all sorts of elusive species and for enjoying peaceful encounters with Africa’s most iconic wildlife.

After returning to camp for a late breakfast, the rest of the day is yours to spend as you like. You can cool off in the plunge pool, read a book beneath the shady trees, or take in the bush views from your tented deck.

Later, as the heat fades, you’ll set off on another afternoon-to-evening game drive, enjoying golden-hour sightings and possibly even seeing a few nocturnal creatures on the move.

When you arrive back at camp, you’ll be treated to a relaxed dinner and some fireside stargazing.

Day 5: Final Safari & Return to Johannesburg

(Breakfast Included; Lunch at Own Expense)

Your final morning begins with one last early game drive, a final opportunity to complete your Big Five sightings or simply soak in the beauty of the bush one last time.

Back at the camp, there is time for a warm breakfast and to freshen up, and then it is time to say your goodbyes and transfer to Hoedspruit, where you’ll connect with the return shuttle to Johannesburg.

You’ll arrive back at OR Tambo International Airport or a nearby lodge between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm. For flights, we recommend booking domestic departures no earlier than 9:00 pm and international flights after 10:00 pm.
