After a bright and early 7:00 am pick up in the city of Johannesburg, we take to the roads, heading east toward the sunlit province of Mpumalanga, where lush valleys, and mountain passes lead us to the world-famous Panorama Route.
En route, we’ll stop in one of the small Highveld towns for lunch (own account), giving you time to fuel up and stretch your legs.
We’ll trace the edge of the Blyde River Canyon, a sweeping 40 km stretch of emerald-green slopes, and canyon cliffs. While gazing at the canyon, at one of the lookout points you’ll stand before the iconic Three Rondavels, ancient rock formations that are uniquely shaped like traditional African huts.
We’ll also visit God’s Window, where the earth falls away in a knee-trembling 1 000-metre drop, revealing panoramic views that seem to roll on forever. On a clear day, you can even glimpse the distant plains of the Kruger. We’ll also stop at Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the Lisbon Falls.
By late afternoon, as the Lowveld air cools off and the sun starts to set, we’ll arrive at the beautiful lodge in Hazyview. You’ll have time to check in, and get settled in your room before dinner, which will be served at the lodge.

With the smell of coffee lingering in the air and the sky just lightly brushed by the pale first light of dawn, we set out for a full day in the Kruger National Park.
After a short drive to the gates, your guide will lead you into the park. They’ll read the land, look for wildlife tracks and try to see even the slightest movement in the bush, all to give you the best wildlife sightings.
Early morning is the ideal time for spotting predators, so keep your camera ready as lions, leopards, and hyenas are often on the move before the day really heats up.
Breakfast packs will be provided by the lodge, and after about 3 hours of safari, we’ll stop at a rest camp or picnic spot for breakfast, a cup of fresh coffee, and a walk around, to refresh your legs.
Then it’s back to the vehicle as we travel through the various interesting eco-zones that make up the Southern Kruger.
Lunch will be enjoyed at one of the Kruger’s rest camps (at your own expense), where you can also browse locally made curios, grab an ice-cold drink, and explore the camp.
Afterward, we’ll meander slowly back toward the lodge, keeping an eye out for late afternoon sightings along the way.
By mid-afternoon , around 15:30 to 16:00, we will return to Hazyview, where the pool, a cool drink, and dinner await.

Another dawn wake up and another day spent exploring the Kruger and its wild inhabitants.
Today’s early morning safari takes us even deeper into the Southern reaches of the Kruger National Park, with your guide looking for animals you might have missed before.
Along with predators, the park is home to 148 species of mammals and more than 500 bird species, so there’s always something extraordinary waiting just around the bend.
After a few hours of driving the gravel and dirt roads, we’ll stop for a light breakfast and a steaming cup of coffee at one of the Kruger’s scenic rest camps.
Then we’ll continue our journey, winding through riverine forests, woodlands, and open savannah before we return to the lodge around 11:00 am.
Lunch will be served on the terrace, followed by an afternoon that you can spend swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the sights and sounds of the lodge.
By 15:45 pm, we head back in the park for a sunset and night safari, a spellbinding three-hour drive that treats you to sights of the Kruger at its most atmospheric.
As the daylight begins to fade away, the park’s nocturnal life begins to come out. During a sunset drive you might catch a glimpse of bush babies leaping between trees, hyenas calling in the distance, and perhaps, if luck is on your side, you could see the glint of the eyes of a lion or leopard.
If you want a longer night game drive, you should plan your safari for winter.
We’ll return to the lodge at around 20:00 pm, where you can sit down to a scrumptious dinner.
